Aeroflot Raises Prices
June 28, Starting July 5, Aeroflot will raise prices for international flights by 5%.
Aeroflot’s internal rates are to be calculated from 31.5 rubles per $1 currency rate instead of the present 30 rubles. According to head of Aeroflot’s press-service Irina Dannenberg, rise in prices will only affect individual tickets, which make about 60% of Aeroflot’s international sales.

The rise in prices is connected to gradual change from the dollar to the euro, since calculation of airplanes’ repair and refueling prices are all based on the euro, Irina Dannenberg explained.

Thus, Aeroflot’s prices are expected to grow at least to the point when the company’s internal rate evens out with euro. “We don’t want to waist money and will act little by little. Abrupt change to the euro would cause a considerable rise in ticket prices, while people’s income is still pretty low,” Dannenberg said.
