Russia’s foreign policy is most popular in Ukraine, Bulgaria, China, India and some states of Africa, said the report presented by the U.S. Pew Global Attitude.
Russia’s foreign policy enjoys the greatest support in China (58 percent), Ukraine (56 percent), Bulgaria (44 percent), India (43 percent) and in such states as Mali, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania.

Most surprising is that the general sentiment to Russia is rather positive, according to the report. Indeed, 81 percent in Ukraine, 78 percent in Bulgaria, 59 percent in Slovakia, 58 percent in India, 54 percent in South Korea, 54 percent in China, 52 percent in Bangladesh, 52 percent in Canada, 47 percent in Britain, 46 percent in Malaysia and 44 percent in the United States manifested positive attitude to Russia. Predictably, Russia is most popular with its own residents (89 percent).

Pew Global Attitude took separate pains to study Europe’s attitude to dependency on Russia’s energy resources. Poland (75 percent), Italy (71 percent), Britain (66 percent) and Ukraine (63 percent) showed the greatest apprehension. At the same time, 65 percent in Sweden, 54 percent in Spain and 53 percent in Bulgaria fear no energy dependence on Russia.
