Over 5,000 officers of police and Interior Ministry will endeavor to secure safety in time of the Day of Russia festivities in Moscow today, Interfax reported referring to the news service of Moscow Main Department of Interior Ministry.
Moscow will celebrate the Day of Russia today, June 12, by more than ten large-scale events, including concerts at the Red Square, Poklonnaya Mountain and in other traditional places of gathering. “Special measures of security will be taken there, including inspection of territory by using trained dogs. The teams of first medical aid, firemen and rescuers of Emergency Ministry will be on duty during the holiday,” said briefer of Moscow Main Department of Interior Ministry.

The cloudless sky above Moscow will be ensured by special aircraft of the RF Air Forces. The meteorological scout, Il-18 took off from Chkalov aerodrome in the small hours of Tuesday to watch weather conditions and collect data on cloud intensity. Ten special planes stand ready to hit rainy clouds by reagents in case of need.

The car traffic will be limited in various parts of Moscow due to the celebrations. The Kremlin Mile racing competition alone will block the traffic via Mokhovaya St., from Vozdvizhenka to Tverskaya, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., local time.
