Military Plan against Iran in the Offing – U.S. Military Sources
A plan of a military strike against Iran is ready, high-ranking U.S. officers told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday. The military sources who preferred to be unidentified say they support U.S. President George Bush in his stance to do everything necessary to stop Iran’s race for nuclear power.
A senior American military officer said in an interview with The Jerusalem Post that the U.S. armed forces had thrown their support behind President Bush and believed that additional steps needed to be taken to stop Iran.

The U.S. military predict that President Bush will do what is needed to stop Teheran before he leaves office in 2009, including a military strike against Iranian nuclear facilities.

On Sunday, Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut said the United States should consider a military strike against Iran over its support of insurgents in Iraq. “I think we’ve got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians to stop them from killing Americans in Iraq,” he said.

The U.S. Navy and Air Force would play the primary role in a military action against Iran, according to a high-ranking American officer. The U.S. military are also considering a naval blockade to cut off Iran’s oil exports, The Jerusalem Post reports.
