Iranian President Shocks U.N. Secretary-General
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has been shocked and dismayed by comments of Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who forecasted that Ban Ki-moon would soon witness Israel’s destruction.
Shocked and dismayed, Ban Ki-moon reminded that Israel is a long-time and full member of the Untied Nations. Under the U.N. Charter, the secretary-general specified, its members have pledged to avoid using threats or force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state.

But the U.N. commitments apparently fall short when it comes to Iran. ”By God’s will, we will witness the destruction of this regime [Israel] in the near future,” Ahmadinejad said Sunday as quoted by Reuters. The Lebanese and Palestinians will soon press a “countdown button” to wipe off Israel, according to Iranian president.

It is not the first killing forecast for Israel made by Iranian president. Roughly two years ago, Ahmadinejad expressed the need to wipe Israel off the map. The belligerent president retreated, saying he didn’t call for destroying Israel but meant that the Jewish state would disappear by itself.
