Ukraine Attempts to Decipher Putin’s Words
Today’s concern of Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is to study the statement of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin about the tyranny in Ukraine, Ukrainian media reported Tuesday with reference to Foreign Ministry’s briefer Andrey Deshchitsa.
”We are yet thoroughly studying those answers to understand whether they related to Ukraine and whether they related to the tyranny in Ukraine,” the briefer of Foreign Ministry said promising that the ministry’s commentary will follow in no time.
”I’m not speaking about the post-Soviet area. The guys from Ukraine were the only hope, but even they have completely discredited themselves, they are drawing closer to total tyranny there, complete violation of constitution, of all laws and so forth,” Putin said a few days ago in an interview to western media when commenting on democracy outside Russia.
But Ukraine’s tyranny might have been just a joke of Russia’s president. At least Putin emphasized he would start speaking seriously after lashing out at Ukraine. But Putin’s humor proved probably too lambent for some policymakers of the neighboring state.
