Kremlin Extends Contract with U.S. Ketchum
Russia’s authorities have extended the contract with Ketchum Inc., which is the PR agency of the United States, said Dmitry Peskov, first deputy of president’s briefer. Ketchum will continue rendering services to Russia in the United States and worldwide.
The first contract with Ketchum was concluded past year. Then, the agency agreed to provide information support to the G8 presidency of Russia in exchange for $2 million.

The second contract made with Ketchum for PR consulting, lobbying and assisting in relations with media expired in late February. The cost of services rendered in the United States reached $845,000 and Peskov stood for the client.

Some bank structures close to president are said to have appropriated roughly $15 million for information and image support of the G8 summit in St. Petersburg that was Ketchum’s concern. Under another estimate, the budget stood at £4 million.

The general practice, however, is to avoid disclosing exact budgets of contracts, so all above figures couldn’t be deemed official.
