Russia Tested Satan Successor
Russia has successfully tested RS-24 intercontinental ballistic missile, RIA Novosti reported. The missile that is armed by separating head parts of individual aiming was launched from Plesetsk spaceport at 2:20 p.m. MSK.
RS-24 is the newest ICBM that will replace obsolescent RS-18 (Stiletto) and RS-20 (Satan) in Strategic Nuclear Forces of Russia.

Amid other things, the purpose of the test was to get experimental evidence confirming solutions taken when designing this ICBM.

The new ICBM is equipped with separating head parts of individual aiming and by devices to break through the missile defense systems. It is expected to maintain adequate potential of Russia’s Strategic Nuclear Forces once the United States stations its missile shield in Eastern Europe. It will stand guard in Russia along with Topol-M mobile facilities.
