Berezovsky Forecasts Soon Death for Lugovoy
Russian exiled tycoon Boris Berezovsky thinks the life of Andrey Lugovoy is in mortal danger. Britain’s prosecutors said they have enough evidence to charge Andrey Lugovoy with poisoning murder of Litvinenko and prepare formal extradition request for him.
Lugovoy “is the suspect of the plot in London, but he is also the witness of the plot in Moscow, and that is more dangerous,” The Associated Press quoted Berezovsky as saying. “I tell you there is no doubt in Russia, Lugovoy will be killed,” the billionaire was explicit.
Berezovsky’s words were echoed by Alexander Goldfarb, head of Civil Rights Foundation. Lugovoy will probably die in the near term, Goldfarb predicted, adding that he is a walking bomb for the Kremlin, as he knows who was behind the murder, who and how delivered polonium-210 to London.
Britain’s prosecutors announced Tuesday they have enough evidence to charge Andrey Lugovoy with Litvinenko’s killing and are pressing to extradite him. Lugovoy has always denied any involvement in the crime.
Once officer of FSB and then resident of Britain, Alexander Litvinenko was poisoned by polonium November 1, 2006. That day, he met with Andrey Lugovy and Dmitry Kovtun at London’s Millennium Hotel.
