No Russians Killed by Beirut Explosion
At least four persons have been hit by a big explosion set off in the parking lot near the Russian Cultural Center in Beirut. No one of the Cultural Center’s personnel has suffered in the accident, representatives of the RF embassy assured.
The explosion happened in a shopping area in the mainly Muslim district. Presumably, it was a bomb under one of the cars. Today’s blast is the second one witnessed by Beirut in the past two days. A night before, a bomb exploded under a car parked near a popular shopping mall in the mainly Christian district, killing one and wounding ten.

Lebanon’s authorities have blamed the bombings on Fatah al-Islam, which is suspected of being linked to al-Qaeda. At least 60 were killed in battle of Lebanon’s security forces with Fatah al-Islam militants on May 20.
