Cooperation Agreement Not to Be Topic of Russia’s-Europe’s Summit
Russia sees no sense in deliberating on a new core agreement during the summit with the European Union. “If the agreement is ever discussed, it will be merely tangentially,” said Sergey Yastrzhembsky, Putin’s envoy for EU relations, Interfax reported.
“It makes no practical sense to discuss the agreement on which we cannot launch negotiations,” a high-ranked source in the Kremlin said on condition of anonymity.

The new agreement of Russia and the European Union couldn’t be negotiated because of the veto of Poland. Russia banned meat exports from there and Poland is pressurizing in an effort to resume deliveries. The argument of Russia is that Poland used to deliver re-export meat to the country and the quality of that meat was very questionable.

The summit of Russia and European Union will be held on Friday near Samara, Russia.
