Russia’s Ice Hockey Leader to Undergo Medical Examination
Russia’s best ice hockey striker Alexey Morozov will undergo medical examination tonight to determine whether he will play in the quarterfinals at 2007 Ice Hockey Championship, Sport Segodnya (Sport Today) reported.
The forward received leg injury during the quarterfinal match against Czechia, where Russia’s squad triumphed 4-0. The injury kept Morozov off the ice for a while, but the striker managed to play the match out.

Morozov will recover by semifinals, where Russia will play either the U.S. team or the squad of Finland, Russia’s chief coach Vyacheslav Bykov told RIA Novosti.

”Alexey received minor injury and broke ranks, but I think everything will be OK. We have no problems in the team,” Bykov assured. “When it comes to injuries, this issue is very complicated, you cannot play hockey without them.”

Morozov has recorded eight goals and five assists at 2007 Ice Hockey World Championship.
