Starting from June 1, 2007, the duty on crude oil exports will go up from $156.4 a ton to $200.6 a ton, Interfax reported referring to Alexander Sakovich, deputy head of the customs payments department at Russia’s Finance Ministry.
The world price for Russia’s crude averaged $61,13433/bbl from March 1 to April 30 of this year, Sakovich specified. So the duty will step up to $200.6 a ton from June 1, 2007.
The duty on light oil exports will be $147.5 a ton, while the dark oil products will have $79.4 a ton. Today’s figures are $117.7 a ton and $63.4 a ton respectively.
The government revises the duties on crude oil/petroleum exports once in two months in view of two-month monitoring over the world prices for Russia’s Urals. The ruling on export duties will be promulgated till May 20, 2007 and take effect on June 1, 2007.
