Coffin with Yeltsin’s Body Delivered to the Christ the Savior Cathedral
The coffin with body of Russia’s First President Boris Yeltsin was delivered to Christ the Savior Cathedral at around 3:00 p.m., MSK, Interfax reported.
Hundreds of Muscovites have come to pay the last respect to Boris Yeltsin before the state funeral. They are queuing up outside the Christ the Savior Cathedral, which had been blown up by communists and rebuilt in Yeltsin’s epoch. Big numbers of local and western TV reporters are easily spotted amid the crowd.

Russia’s First President Boris Yeltsin died of heart failure April 23. He will be buried at the Novodevichie cemetery on Wednesday, this time breaking the Soviet traditions for the Red Square’s funerals. President Vladimir Putin declared April 25 the day of national mourning in the country.
