Legislators to Chase Sponsors of Dissenters’ Marches
State Duma has determined the strength of its taskforce to probe into the Dissenters’ Marches staged April 14 to 15 in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Interfax reported.
The taskforce of United Russia’s Alexander Gurov, communist Viktor Ilyukhin and Fair Russia’s Gennady Gudkov will endeavor to find out “arrangers and sponsors” of those events, State Duma’s Vice Speaker Oleg Morozov said earlier, RIA Novosti reported.

State Duma’s independent deputy Vladimir Ryzhkov wasn’t picked out to participate in investigation, all his desire notwithstanding. Ryzhkov is regarded participant of the Dissenters’ Marches, though he said he was an ordinary witness.

Staged by the Other Russia opposition movement, the Dissenters’ Marches were held April 14 to 15 in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The turnout reached a few thousands, of whom the police arrested 350, including reporters. The force was often used and no explanations given in time of that crackdown on the opposition that has been condemned by the world at large already. Next time, the Dissenters’ Marches will be held in Nizhni Novgorod on April 28.
