Oleg Deripaska Stripped Off U.S. Visa
The U.S. authorities blocked entry visa of RUSAL owner Oleg Deripaska past summer, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Russia’s billionaire had been long unable to get the U.S. visa due to suspected links to the criminal community. He succeeded only in 2005 thanks to the lobbying company of Senator Bob Dole. Dole’s services cost $560,000 to Deripaska, The Wall Street Journal reported.

But one of conditions was Deripaska’s agreement to be questioned by FBI detectors.

In mid.-past year, however, the ban on the U.S. visits was again imposed on Deripaska, as the Department of Justice doubted billionaire’s sincerity, one of the sources said. In the Department of Justice they didn’t confirm even the mere meeting with magnate.

Deripaska has valid multiple visa of the United States, billionaire’s lawyer Simon Moyse told The Wall Street Journal a few days ago. But already on April 18, the lawyer avoided confirming it for the record and refused to comment.

Deripaska predictably denies any bond to the criminal world, blaming the accusations on unscrupulous competitors in the United States and Britain.
