Russia to Restore Leadership in Weapons Exports
Russia is regaining a leading standing in weapons exports, First Vice Premier Sergey Ivanov announced during the sitting of Military and Industrial Commission in Yekaterinburg.
The situation will further improve by creating big holdings, similar to United Aircraft and Shipbuilding Corp., Ivanov said, pointing out that up to 40 corporations of this type will emerge in Russia by 2015.

Nowadays, defense industry accounts for 70 percent of high-tech products made in the country, employing roughly a half of all Russia’s researchers, NTV Channel reminded.

Today’s task of defense and industrial complex is intensifying the work aimed at civil sector of economy, first vice prime minister specified. A fifth of all novelties designed by defense and industrial complex should go exactly there.
