PACE Not to Push Ukraine to Early Elections
PACE’s Monitoring Committee OKed Tuesday the draft resolution on Ukraine, which PACE is likely to pass after April 19 debate, said Vitaly Shibko, Supreme Rada’s legislator and Ukraine’s spokesman in the committee, UNIAN reported.
”The main thing is that pushing to early elections has been dropped,” the legislator specified. The draft calls on political forces of Ukraine to break the deadlock by negotiating and by looking for consensus.

According to Shibko, the draft specifies that new elections should be held under revised electoral laws and after abandoning the imperative mandate. It also recommends amending the Constitution of Ukraine. To certain extent, today’s problems of Ukraine could be blamed on imperfection of the country’s basic law, Shibko pointed out referring to Monitoring Committee’s opinion.
