Russia Inquires in IAEA
Moscow has directed an inquiry to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), expecting it to promptly assess the statement of Iran’s president on the start of industrial production of nuclear fuel in that country, RIA Novosti reported.
“Needless to say that we take in all seriousness Iran’s statement about setting to mastering production facilities for uranium enrichment,” said Mikhail Kamynin, official spokesman of Russia’s Foreign Ministry.

Russia “is unaware of any engineering breakthrough in the recent nuclear program of Iran, which could have changed the nature of enrichment work carried out in that country,” Kamynin specified. “With all these circumstances, we have directed an inquiry to IAEA and are waiting for the assessment of Agency that executes guarantee and control activities in respect of the nuclear programs of Iran,” Russia’s diplomat announced.

Iran proceeds from research stage of uranium enrichment to industrial production of the nuclear fuel, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the day before, adding Iran may withdraw from the Treaty on Non-Proliferation.
