Yushchenko Asks Yanukovich for Election Money
Ukraine’s President Viktor Yushchenko has demanded that Viktor Yanukovich government launch preparations for a new parliamentary election and allocate money for the poll. The head of the state reminded that his decree to dissolve the parliament contains clear guidelines for ministers and election authorities, the ProUA news agency reported Thursday.
Viktor Yushchenko made the statement at a session of the National Security Council. The president also appealed to the Rada, asking to pass a decision on a Thursday session to allocate funds at its session. He said he is convinced that state coffers have enough money to finance a “democratic and transparent election”.

The Ukrainian leader underscored an urgent need to shape regional election commissions and prepare polling stations for Ukrainian citizens living abroad.
