Moscow Mayor Permits Rightist March
Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov has given his permission to stage a major rally in central Moscow this weekend, the Ekho Moskvy reported Thursday, quoting a source in the nationalist Eurasian Youth Union movement.
Demonstrators are going to march from Tverskaya Street to Revolution Square in downtown Moscow with the slogan “against expansion of Western intervention”, according to organizers of the rally.

The International Eurasian Movement earlier said the Imperial March would be held to protest the March of the Discontented opposition rally slated for April 14 in Moscow where organizers hope to draw some 1,500 people.

The International Eurasian Movement and its youth division Euroasian Youth Union were among participants of the notorious nationalist Russian March in November 2005. But next year the union decided against taking part in a new Russian March.

Earlier, the city hall turned down an application to hold the March of the Discontented on April 14 in central Moscow, offering alternative venues on the outskirts. Organizers, however, declare that they will hold unsanctioned rallies in the center in any case.
