Rada Outlaws President Yushchenko
The Supreme Rada has voted to outlaw all presidential decrees and resolutions, saying the president has trampled on the constitution, the proUA news agency reported Wednesday afternoon. Deputies also accused President Yushchenko of plotting a coup when he was signing a decree to dissolve the parliament on April 2.
Ukraine’s parliament passed a resolution early afternoon, saying President Yushchenko’s order on the Rada dissolution runs against the Constitution. “The head of the state committed a crime which is called an attempt of a coup d’etat”, deputies said in the statement.

Lawmakers expressed their indignation over the president’s decision to invalidate the Rada’s resolutions as of April 2. The statement also warned all Ukrainian officials that non-execution of the parliament’s decision entails criminal liability.

“We are not asking – we are warning the President,” Rada chairman Alexander Moroz said, commenting the new resolution. “We are keeping him from a vicious step.” The parliament’s speaker also reported that the chairman of the Ukrainian Constitutional Court had standed down because of “enormous pressure” on the Court.
