Berezovsky to Sue Russian TV
Russian businessman and political émigré Boris Berezovsky said Tuesday he will go to court to sue a Russian TV channel which broadcast an interview with a new witness in the Litvinenko case.
Mr. Berezovsky’s lawyers are drafting the suit which is to be in court this week, the businessmen told a news conference in London on Tuesday.

Boris Berezvosky is suing the Rossia TV channel which showed in its Vesti news program an interview with a man who introduced himself as Pyotr. Other reports say his real name is Vladimir Teplyuk. He said the tape with his confession of plotting a murder of Boris Berezovsky, which saved the tycoon from extradition to Russia, was forged.

According to the witness, former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko forced him to make a statement that he is an FSB agent who was sent to London to assassinate Mr. Berezovsky. Pyotr says he was poisoned with a psychoactive drug after he refused to make the confession. Instead of this, someone forged a tape with his confession which was later sent to British authorities who took the decision on Mr. Berezovsky’s extradition.

Former FSB agent Alexander Litvinenko, who fled to Britain in 2000, Litvinenko died in a London hospital past November. The doctors said the reason of his death was poisoning by radioactive polonium 210. An official conclusion on the cause of his death has not as yet been released.
