Russia, US to Discuss Missile Shield in Europe
Russia and the United States are launching talks in April to discuss America’s plan to deploy its anti-aircraft defense system in Eastern Europe, the Associated Press news agency reported quoting a high-ranking U.S. official.
The United States will explore ways to cooperate with Russia on missile defense at high level talks on April 19, U.S. Ambassador to NATO Victoria Nuland said in a statement.

“The United States also looks forward to further discussions with the Russian Federation on bilateral cooperation and joint activity in this important field, including the potential sharing of technology and the development of compatible systems,” Ms. Nuland said.

The report follows talks Wednesday between the U.S. and Russian leaders, where Russian President Vladimir Putin restated his concerns over American military presence in Eastern Europe.
