Russia’s Pacific Fleet Wraps Up Winter Training Season
The Russian Pacific Ocean Fleet is holding a military exercise in the Japanese Sea, the RIA Novosti news agency reported Wednesday.
The maneuvers are closing the winter training season. 15 ships and boats of the Primorskaya Flotilla as well as coast aircraft forces and seaborne helicopters will be engaged.
Under the training plan, the military forces will be launching missiles, flying aircrafts and helicopters at night and searching and destroying submarines of a mock enemy. Submarine crews are also to hold a mock underwater combat with firing torpedoes.
Primorskaya Flottilla Commander, Vice-Admiral Chirkov is in charge of the training.
