President Putin Orders to Clarify Reasons of Recent Tragedies
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin ordered PM Mikhail Fradkov to determine the reasons of airliner’s crash in Samara airport, methane explosion in Ulyanovskaya mine, the Kemerovo Region, and the fire in the home for elderly in the Krasnodar Territory.
President Vladimir Putin called on Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov “to do everything to investigate the reasons of those tragedies at the highest level,” Mayak broadcaster reported. Putin committed Fradkov “to make respective conclusions when revealing the reasons of incidents.”
Vladimir Putin sent condolence telegrams to Kemerovo Region’s Governor Aman Tuleev and Krasnodar Territory’s chief Alexander Tkachev, Putin’s news service reported.
The March 19 explosion at Ulyanovskaya killed 104 of 203 that were in the mine. Ninety three were rescued and the hunt for others continues. The death toll of Kamyshevatsky home for elderly reached 62.
