Families of Slain Minors to Get 2 Million Rubles Each
Families of minors killed by explosion at Ulyanovskaya coalmine will get from 1.3 million rubles to 2 million rubles each, RIA Novosti reported with reference to Russia’s Emergency Ministry. The amount will depend on the number of family members.
Though RIA Novosti hasn’t specified the source of financing, the money is said to be provided under agreement of Kemerovo Region’s authorities with Yuzhkuzbassugol, which owns Ulyanovskaya mine.

Yuzhkuzbassugol will also cover funeral costs and account for the better part of money appropriated for teaching the children of victims.

The March 19 explosion at Ulyanovskaya killed 104 of 203 that were in the mine. Ninety three were rescued and the hunt for others continues.
