Diamond Vendors Caught in Moscow Region
Diamond vendors were caught red-handed in Khimki-town of the Moscow Region, Interfax reported referring to local enforcement bodies.
Three persons, a Muscovite, an Altai native and a resident of Mordovia, were detained Wednesday near Grant store in the course of a special operation of investigators. The trio attempted to sell two cut diamonds with the total weight of 2.7 carats and the estimated cost of 720,000 rubles.
In the brief-case, the detained had a necklace of 98 diamonds with the total weight of 112 carats worth around 17,250,000 rubles, two sets of earrings (4 carats; 1,100,000 rubles) and a ring (2 carats; roughly 470,000 rubles).
Eleven cut diamonds with the total weight of 20 carats were found during the search at the flat of one of the detained.
