Russia Appropriates More Money to Improve Image Worldwide
Russia will step up global image funding by 6.5 percent on year in 2007, Vladimir Strzhalkovsky, who heads Russia’s Federal Tourism Agency (Rosturizm), told reporters Tuesday.
”Federal budget has appropriated 137 million rubles to promote Russia abroad,” Strzhalkovsky said after the meeting of Rosturizm board. The money will go to arrange exhibitions and presentations in foreign countries, the official specified.
Strzhalkovsky said Russia won’t introduce mandatory classification for hotels in the near term. “In many foreign countries, it is the mandatory requirement. In Russia, it is the voluntary wish, and no changes are being currently prepared,” Strzhalkovsky pointed out.
