Foreign Policy of the U.S. Is Quiet But Efficient
The foreign policy of the United States is quiet but efficient, President George W. Bush said during the news conference in Uruguay.
The aim of the U.S. foreign policy is helping the people and improving conditions of their lives, George Bush made clear during the news conference duly attended by Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez. Bush also called for promoting trade cooperation with Uruguay.
The U.S. President is in Colombia now, he will also go to Guatemala and Mexico but ignore Venezuela. Bush visited Brazil already, where he sealed a few vital agreements, including the agreement on alternative energy sources.
When meeting Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, Bush emphasized the support to his battle against the drug cartels. Roughly 2,000 gathered 1.5 kilometers from the president’s place in Bogotá in time of the leaders conversation. The activists were burning the U.S. flags and chanting anti-Bush slogans.
Of interest is that Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez timed his alternative tour to the Latin Ameria's trip of the U.S. president. Chavez blames on Bush the attempts to divide Latin America and narrow the influence of Venezuela in the region. Chavez led the demonstration of 20,000 in Argentina and visited Bolivia to back up President Evo Morales.
