Vostok Nafta to Get Rid Of Gazprom Stocks
Vostok Nafta will outsource Gazprom stocks into a separate company, Vostok Gas, AK&M reported with reference to the BOD decision of the fund.
Vostok Nafta announced its BOD has added to the EGM agenda the issue of transferring Gazprom stocks to a separate company, Vostok Gas. The Extraordinary General Meeting of the fund is scheduled for May or June.
The purpose of the split is to improve transparency of investors’ access to assets that don’t relate to Gazprom. Vostok Gas will be a holding with the market worth of $2.5 billion.
Vostok Nafta owned 1.3 percent in Gazprom as of December 31, 2006. As of late January, the net worth of its assets lost 6.6 percent to $3.267 billion.
Vostok Nafta, where Swedish and international institutional investors control over 50 percent, primarily invests in stocks of oil, gas and energy companies of Russia.
