Western Media Purposefully Attacks Russia, Lavrov Says
Western media has waged the goal-directed campaign against Russia, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made clear Sunday during the interview to TVC Channel, Interfax reported.
“Even though we are no defenders of conspiracy theory, I see some campaign in it,” Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

The campaign gained momentum “exactly when Russia has begun to strengthen, when it has become financially independent,” the minister pointed out. “The stronger we are becoming, the greater, perhaps, is the number of those willing to fight for influence, the desire to prevent us from getting stronger,” Lavrov emphasized. The purpose of this anti-Russian campaign is “to keep us tense, provoke some irritation.”

At the same time, there are no signs that relations of Russia and the West are aggravating. “The capital inflow to Russia exceeded $40 billion past year. It is the absolute record,” Lavrov announced, adding Russia got two-thirds of the amount as direct investments.
