Missile Defense Calls for Joint Consideration, Russia’s Foreign Minister Said
The issue of missile defense system calls for collective consideration, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the reporters after the 6th meeting of Security Cooperation Council of Russia and France.
"The issue of missile defense system calls for collective consideration, if the matter at stake is defending from threats common to all,” Lavrov made clear.
”We don’t assert the U.S. plans of stationing elements of missile defense system in Europe are targeted against Russia. We are attempting to study them,” the minister emphasized.
“Some think the United States should clarify itself about its missile defense system. But if all collective work is adjusted to the decision of a single state, it will contradict the principles of multilateral cooperation and democracy of making decisions, including within the NATO itself,” Lavrov said.
