Gazprom to Supply Gas to France’s Plant
Russia’s gas monopoly, Gazprom, will be supplying gas to Yara plant in France. The parties have struck the respective deal already, Interfax reported.
World biggest producer of fertilizers, Yara International ASA, has announced it entered into a contract with Gazprom committing the latter to supply gas to the plant in Le Havre. Yara didn’t specify the contract’s duration or the size of supplies.

Gazprom may sell up to 1.5 billion cu meters of gas in France under the December agreement sealed with Gaz de France.

The annual gas requirements of all Yara plants that are located in the Netherlands, France and Italy are estimated at around 3 billion cu meters. Yara is one of the biggest gas consumers in Europe. The recent deal with Gazprom is its first direct contract for Russia’s gas supplies.

In France, Gazprom is represented by its subsidiary, Gazprom Marketing & Trading France, that has been operating there since past year.
