Bush Wagered on Iraq and Lost, Al-Qaeda No. 2 Said
U.S. President George Bush wagered on Iraq and lost, said al-Qaeda second in command Ayman al-Zawahri, AP reported referring to the audiotape posted on the web-site of insurgents.
Al-Zawahri blamed gambling and lying on Bush. He said the U.S. president has admitted his failure in Iraq though he is very stubborn and was always lying about winning.
Al-Zawahri also called on all Muslims to unite. The Arabs shouldn’t be in conflict with the Persians, and the Kurds shouldn’t clash with the Arabs, he said.
Days earlier, al-Zawahri threatened the United States with a reprisal far worse than anything before. The only way out for Washington was to change its policies towards Muslim states, al-Zawahri warned.
“You are facing the Islamic rage...what awaits you, should you press on, is far worse than anything you have seen," al-Zawahri announced via an Internet video.
