India Eyes Maximum in Sakhalin-3
High-ranked officials of India and Russia discussed in Delhi Tuesday the Sakhalin-3 share that could belong to Indian ONGC, PRIME-TASS reported with reference to Dow Jones.
India counts on the size that would be the maximum under the laws of Russia, M.S. Srinivasan from Indian Ministry for Petroleum and Natural Gas said after the meeting of Russia’s Economic Development Minister German Gref with Indian Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Murli Deora.

Russian minister promised that the government will consider the request, Deora said.

Russia is interested in Indian capital’s involvement in Sakhalin-3 project and in development of Vankorskoe field in the Krasnoyarsk Region, RF Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov announced in January.

Sakhalin-3 oil and gas project provides for developing Kirinskoe, Veninskoe, Vostochno-Odoptinskoe and Ayashskoe hydrocarbon fields in the Sea of Okhotsk with the aggregate oil reserves estimated at above 800 million tons. The total gas reserves are said to exceed 900 billion cu meters.
