Iran Ready to Settle Nuclear Issue in 3 Weeks
Iran is prepared to settle all outstanding issues with the UN nuclear watchdog within three weeks, the AP news agency quoted the country’s top nuclear negotiator as saying. Ali Larijani said Sunday Iranian authorities are ready for a diplomatic solution.
Iranian Supreme Security Council Chairman Ali Larijani, speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Sunday, said he had written to IAEA head El-Baradei to say Iran is ready to solve all the outstanding issues within three weeks. At the same time, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Iran would not give up its nuclear ambitions.

Addressing the nation at the celebration of the 28th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Mr. Ahmadinejad said Iran had made a big step forward in advancing its nuclear technology. The Iranian leader, however, refrained from any fiery statements on the country’s nuclear program.

Mohamed El-Baradei, head of the U.N nuclear watchdog, on Sunday welcomed Iran’s willingness to resume negotiations, but said only “full transparency” on Iran’s part will bring the two sides to the negotiating table.
