Iran to Help Lukashenko Construct First Nuclear Plant
Iran stands ready to help Belarus construct its first nuclear power plant. At the same time, in Tehran, they think Belarus able to independently implement the project, Iran’s Ambassador to Minsk Abdulhamid Fekri said Wednesday as quoted by Telegraf.by.
The ambassador also suggested establishing a joint bank system of Belarus and Iran, laying foundation for the trading and economic cooperation of the countries.
Cooperation of Iran and Belarus is of civil nature exclusively, Fekri emphasized. Iran is self-sufficient when it comes to the armaments and needs no assistance in this field, the ambassador made clear, pointing out, however, that interchanging opinions on military and engineering issues does make sense, especially with such friendly state as Belarus.
Past November, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad discussed in Tehran the definite projects of energy cooperation. Despite the growing pressure of the world, Iran has amassed experience of independent introduction of nuclear technology, up to the complete construction of nuclear power plants.
