Bush Confirmed Support for Russia’s Entry to WTO
US President George Bush confirmed his administration’s policy of support for Russia’s entry to the World Trade Organization (WTO). According to BBC, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov announced it after his meeting with President Bush today. Lavrov said that his talk with the president showed that Moscow and Washington have common views on additional possibilities of solving key international issues.
Russia’s Foreign Minister Lavrov said that he and President Bush discussed Iran’s nuclear program, upcoming six-sided talks on North Korea’s nuclear issue, the Middle East and Iraq’s problems during their meeting.
Lavrov said that both Russia and the U.S. are satisfied with the way their bilateral initiatives are being carried out, including the creation of a global anti-nuclear-terrorism coalition. “President Bush noted good perspectives in the development of our dialog about energy,” added Lavrov.
Russian minister also mentioned the success of Russia-US talks on creating many-sided centers for uranium enrichment services for all countries that abide by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
